About the Role

Codecraftstem is looking for an enthusiastic and hands-on Robotics Instructor to inspire the next generation of engineers and innovators. In this role, you will design and deliver practical robotics workshops, after-school programmes, and live online classes for students aged 8–22 across Ghana. You will introduce learners to the fundamentals of robotics — from basic circuitry and sensor integration to autonomous robot design and competition preparation. Using platforms such as Arduino, micro:bit, and LEGO Mindstorms, you will guide students through real-world engineering challenges that develop critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork. This is a highly rewarding role for someone who is passionate about hands-on learning and believes that every child in Africa deserves access to world-class STEM education.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging robotics lessons, workshops, and bootcamps for students aged 8–22 at various skill levels
  • Teach core robotics concepts including electronics, mechanics, sensor integration, and basic programming (Python/C++/block-based coding)
  • Guide students through hands-on projects using Arduino, micro:bit, LEGO Mindstorms, and other robotics kits
  • Prepare and coach student teams for robotics competitions (e.g. WRO, FLL, local STEM challenges)
  • Develop and continuously improve lesson plans, project guides, and assessment rubrics
  • Maintain and manage robotics equipment, kits, and workshop materials
  • Deliver both in-person sessions at partner schools and community centres, and live online classes via the Codecraftstem platform
  • Foster a safe, collaborative, and curiosity-driven learning environment
  • Document student progress and provide detailed feedback to parents and school coordinators
Requirements
  • Degree or HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Education, or a related STEM field
  • Demonstrable experience building and programming robots or embedded systems
  • Proficiency with at least two of: Arduino, micro:bit, Raspberry Pi, LEGO Mindstorms, or similar platforms
  • Working knowledge of Python and/or C++ for hardware programming
  • Prior experience teaching or mentoring students aged 8–18
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Ability to break down complex engineering concepts for beginner audiences
  • Reliable transport to partner school locations in Greater Accra
Nice to Have
  • Experience coaching students for WRO, FIRST Lego League, or similar robotics competitions
  • Knowledge of CAD software (Tinkercad, Fusion 360) and 3D printing
  • Familiarity with computer vision or basic AI/ML for embedded systems
  • Experience with drone programming or autonomous vehicles
  • Previous curriculum development experience
